in act one scene one of hamlet it is a cold night in demark and francesico is guarding the top of the tower, barnado then came to swap shifts with him but francesico got a fright because there had been rumors of a ghost going around. they then hear a far away noise, thinking it was  horatio and marcellus who were also meant to be guarding the tower. horatio then enters and they mistake him for the ghost but they soon reilase he isn't. francesico then leaves. later that night the ghost shows up and they see he looks very much like the previous, late king. they try and speak to it but it soon fades away. after it had left horatio and marcellus keep asking barnado a lot of questions about the ghost and the previous times it had been seen. whilst they were talking the ghost appered once again, this time with open arms. they tried to make it speak but it wouldn't respond to them. it soon disapered again, but they knew where they would find it.
