A midsummer nights
dream
I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. I looked
at the clock, it was 3:27am. “That was the scariest dream ever” I whispered to
my best friend Robyn. “Just go back to sleep Louise, it was only a dream” she whispered
back. So I tried to do what she said, but it just couldn’t get that image out
of my head- the people screaming, the injured bodies, the blood. After the
train crashed, I tried to run but my leg was caught under a seat that had fell
down, then a falling of rubble came straight at me and I woke up. After along
time, I eventually gave up on trying to fall asleep and just lay there in the
dark until morning came.
At the breakfast table I just couldn’t bring myself to eat
anything. “Louise, what’s up?” asked Robyn “was it the dream?”
“Yeah” I mumbled back to her.
"come
on, let’s go and enjoy the rest of our summer holiday. Shall we go shopping in
town?”
“Okay” I said with a small smile. Robyn always knows how to cheer me up.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door.
We were walking down the street when she came to halt
outside the train station. “w-why are you stopping?” I stuttered. “because
we’re getting the train!” she answered.
“
"What?!
You didn’t say anything about the train. I thought we were getting the bus!”
"I'm not getting the bus! It takes longer and it costs more. Just get the train
Louise. It was only a dream, nothing’s going to happen” she moaned.
“Fine!”
I grumbled and I stomped into the station after her.
When the train pulled up, I was consumed with terror, but I
had to do this. I couldn’t let Robyn down, and I had to face my fears. Robyn
stepped on, and I tried to follow her, but i couldn’t do it! I just couldn’t do
it! I took a step away, and Robyn tried to follow me, but as she did she the
train sped away and she slipped under it. Once the train had gone, I saw my
best friend. Dead.
I like it because its spooky and mysterious and makes me want to read more. xxxxxxx
